Professor Way Kuo, President of City University of Hong Kong.
Before joining the City University of Hong Kong, Professor Kuo was University Distinguished Professor and Dean of Engineering at the University of Tennessee (UT). He has been named a Distinguished Visiting Scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Professor Kuo is renowned for his work in designing and modelling reliability for electronics systems and products and is a recipient of the IEEE Reliability Society Lifetime Achievement Award. He holds honorary professorship titles at Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Xian Jiaotong University, Central South University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, National Tsing-Hua University, National Taiwan University and National Chiao-Tung University.
Professor Kuo is elected a Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is also an elected member of the US National Academy of Engineering, Academia Sinica in Taiwan and International Academy for Quality. He is Fellow of the American Society for Quality (ASQ), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Institute for Operations Research and the Management Science (INFORMS), American Statistical Association (ASA), and Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE).

Conference Chair: Gaozhuo Liu
Gaozhuo Liu was born in 1943 in Jiangxi Province and graduated from Tsinghua University in 1967 and majored in fluid mechanics of the Department of Mathematics for Engineering Mechanics.
At present, he is the board chairman of Chinese Society of Aeronautics and Astronautics and head of the Science and Technology Committee of China Aviation Industries Corp. Mr. Liu has long been engaged in the research of aviation science and technology and the organizational and managerial work of major aviation programs. He is expert in aviation engineering organization and management, adept at applying advanced engineering management theory to the engineering practice, and good at summarizing and refining the theory and methodology of engineering management from practice. He possesses aviation expertise and excellent managerial talent. He has participated, organized, and directed the development and production of many projects, such as Z-8 series helicopters, J-10 fighter, etc., and published papers. He is an expert in engineering management for the major project of aviation industry, and has successively won the national special class award for scientific and technological progress and ministerial first class and second class awards for scientific and technological progress.
